about us
Welcome to debris online and to those of you who are already customers of our shop in Cardiff, welcome back! Our website is the result of public demand from far-flung clients who are unable to visit us in Cardiff as often as they would like but for those of you who are new to debris here is a potted history.
When debris first opened, in 1991, the focus was mainly on crystals, fossils and shells. The dictionary definition of debris is 'scattered fragments' so this seemed an ideal name for a business selling beautiful fragments of nature. Within a few years crystal jewellery was a feature in the shop and, largely due to the effort we put in to seeking out the unusual, soon became the largest sector of our business.
A love of crystals has always been the driving force behind the shop and this is reflected in our jewellery designs, particularly the unique pieces created by Simon Campbell in our on-site workshop. Simon likes to incorporate natural crystals into his jewellery alongside cut and polished stones, pearls and fossils. Some of our customers have been collecting Simon's jewellery for over a decade now and have also commissioned pieces to commemorate special occasions in their lives.
Aside from Simon's jewellery, we have pieces designed by us and manufactured elsewhere and also items selected from other companies' collections. We strive to provide you with the best value and quality within your price range. This goal also applies to the crystals and fossils we stock. Every item we sell is individually hand picked by us, from the smallest pair of earrings to the largest ammonite!
If you have any queries about items on the website, or the wider selection we have in the shop, please let us know. Debris is a friendly, family business and we will be delighted to help you in any way we can. Our aim is to ensure you always find shopping at debris, whether online or in person, a pleasurable experience.
